About Us
Chaumont Dive Club is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (more commonly known as BSAC) and was established in 1979 in Stalybridge Cheshire.
BSAC is considered to be one of the most thorough training organisations for diving worldwide. As well as quality training, you also get to make a bunch of new diving friends, have diving opportunities all year round – in the UK and overseas. And you can progress through further skills and qualifications at your own pace.
Our club consists of divers of all levels, and we are really fortunate to have several instructors within the club including a couple of National Instructors. We offer training, ranging from complete beginners, to those that want to further develop their skills.
The club meets on Mondays at 8:30pm at Active Copley where we have an hour of pool facilities to do all our training, test new kits, do a bit of snorkelling or just have a swim.
After the pool session, we gather in the bar area overlooking the pool. And the best bit...the bar is open.
We use our club RIB to dive all over the UK, on local trips to Anglesey, and further afield to the Farne Islands, Oban and Plymouth to name but a few.
The Club RIB (Rigid hull Inflatable Boat), Valhalla, is approx 6 meters long and 2 meters in width, comfortably seating up to 8 divers with full kit. The boat is fully kitted out for safe, enjoyable diving. It has a VHF radio, Satellite navigation and a depth finder. Oxygen and a first aid kit are always carried on board. The only thing you need to worry about is enjoying your dive.
